Phoenix von Piesau is a stunning 2 year old long haired German Shepherd. Just as fluffy as he is handsome, Phoenix is a curious boy who loves to explore and comes outside excited and ready for his walks. He walks well on leash in a heel position. Phoenix is extremely sweet, loves to melt into your arms and is a very smart pup. He already knows his ‘sit’ command, especially when he is rewarded with treats! He is a great greeter, friendly and social, preferring to be surrounded by his humans and other pups. While he is sweet and excited about other dogs, cats are a no for this guy. This happy and sweet lover boy is ready to find his forever family, whether they are in state or out! 
We actually know about Phoenix’s past. He belonged to a family with teenagers where he was a certified ESA dog (Emotional Support Animal). The family fell on hard times and their only option was to take him to a notoriously high kill animal shelter. We got the call for help. Phoenix arrived in a beat up truck driven by the teenagers in the family, their faces stained with tears. They gave our volunteer a group hug when she explained we would find Phoenix a wonderful new home.  Sad times for so many families and their dogs. We would love to find Phoenix a home with kids!
